2011 New Year's Resolutions

Is there some official deadline for setting New Year's resolutions? I suppose you're supposed to do it by the 1st, huh? That's tough though, since there's so much going on through the holidays and everything. And the beginning of the year is refreshing, inspiring even. I feel like it helps me get some vision of what I want to do this year.

So, there's my rational for just now rolling out my resolutions. Building on a good year last year and the lessons I learned about how to set resolutions, I've put together a list that I think will be challenging but achievable.

As usual, I'm going to start with some fitness goals:

- 12,500 push-ups. Only a minor step up from last year, but an increase nonetheless.
- 1500 pull-up. 50% more than last year.
- Run 150 miles. Still low for any serious runner, but it's 50% more than last year and I'm not a serious runner by any stretch of the imagination.

On the charity front, I have two goals:

- Donate an additional $10,000, beyond regular giving commitments from last year.
- At least 12 days throughout the year, donate my time to a charitable cause

In my personal life:

- Create my bucket or life list. I always have things that I say I'm going to do, but I've never formalized it into a list. This year I'm going to do that.
- Cross at least 5 things off my bucket list. This will probably feature heavily on my goal list in the future, but this year I'm going to start off easy.

On the business side:

- Create at least $30,000/month of new income

I have some goals or ideas around the business that haven't fully coalesced; that doesn't mean I won't be shooting for them, because this is definitely a year that I'm looking to make some transitions. More on that in the future.

There you have it. Here's to a good year!
