We got back from the cruise on Friday evening completely wiped out. It was an absolute blast, by far one of the most enjoyable trips I've ever been on. As a vacation it left a little to be desired though: I didn't want to let any time go to waste when I could be meeting and connecting with people, so sleep had to be sacrificed.

Normally I take a lot of time to read while I'm on vacation. I like to bring 3 or 4 books with me just to make sure I don't run out. An afternoon on the beach reading a book is my idea of a good day of vacation, or in the case of a cruise, an afternoon on the deck. On this trip though, there were so many people to talk with and so much to learn that I couldn't find the time.

By far the people I met and the friends I made were the highlight. It was the #1 thing I was looking forward to and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I can't wait to get to know many of them better over the coming months and years.

I have a bunch of things I want to share from the cruise, but I need some time to let them simmer. It was 8 days of standing with my face in front of a firehose of information, trying to gulp down as much as I could. Once things quiet down a little (and we finish unpacking) I'll get more thoughts posted here.
